About me

Eight years ago, I put my name forward for election to our Town Council because it needed to change. It needed different voices and needed to refocus on building for the future. The people of Carleton Place agreed and gave me their votes. Four years ago, I asked to be re-elected to keep our Council focused on building the town we all want and the people of Carleton Place once again put their trust in me.

Like more and more of the people living in Carleton Place, I wasn't born and raised here. I chose to make Carleton Place my home. After years of living and working in Ottawa, I wanted to return to a community like the one where I grew up, in rural, small-town Ontario. What I found when I came to Carleton Place was a beautiful town, with a strong sense of community, a love of history, and a passion to hold onto its small-town charm in the face of rapid growth and looming new development.

I firmly believe that we can have it both ways here in Carleton Place. We can grow without losing the small-town charm and community spirit that has made CP such an attractive place to live for so many people. And we can ensure that growth doesn't overwhelm our town's ability to provide the things we need to guarantee the same quality of life into the future. We just need to stay focused on tomorrow — building on the things we're already doing right while imagining how much better we can become.

I'm asking for your vote this year so I can continue to bring a future-focused, practical, and optimistic perspective to our Town Council. It's our town. Let's build it together.
